This year, the O2F (Outreach to Foreigners) network would like to encourage you, the church leaders, and the church to participate in this ministry among the foreign workers in Malaysia by dedicating a special “Day of Prayer for Migrant Workers” on 11 November 2007.
With the expected ballooning of the current 1.8 million registered migrant workers to 5 million by 2010, their presence will inevitably affect all Malaysians regardless of our level of awareness. This new field of mission has arrived at the churches’ doorstep where it challenges us to see mission work as cross-cultural and not necessarily cross-borders, as in the past. Churches have been given this great opportunity to reach out to the many migrants in our midst. The migrants are most receptive to the gospel in their state of displacement from their own homeland, away from their society and families’ pressure, while beset with a new range of adjustment problems and the ill-treatment by certain groups of employers. In a state of vulnerability and helplessness, they yearn for a ray of hope and relief……found only in God’s unconditional love and acceptance.
Prayerfully and in obedience to God’s Great Commission, YOU can choose to make a difference in others’ lives by beginning with a bold step in filling out the response slip attached. Kindly mail it to us at O2F c/o MCGM (see address below), or fax to 03-80243086.
